The Boots cleansing balm that has almost zero negative reviews that smells 'just like a spa'

This bargain balm gets rid of makeup in a flash

When it comes to taking your makeup off at the end of the day, face wipes and lukewarm water doesn't cut it. A cleansing balm is a skincare essential and all traces of makeup will vanish down the plughole, but which balm is best? According to Boots lovers, they seem to think it's this Elemis product.

The balm in question is the ELEMIS Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm 100g which almost has zero negative reviews online. It costs a whopping £46, and while the price might be a turn off, many of the reviews insist that this balm is worth every penny.

Aimed at dry complexions, this cleanser is full of nourishing ingredients and leaves a lasting softness on your skin, according to the product description. Others say it possesses a 'spa-like scent' and an oil-rich formula which is one of the main reasons why this balm is so popular with shoppers.

The Boots website says: "Its unique blend of nine essential oils including Lavender, Chamomile and Eucalyptus smell like heaven in a jar to invigorate the senses. Formulated without mineral oils, it also combines Rose and Mimosa waxes with Elderberry, Starflower and Optimega™ Oils."

This balm has a lot going for it, so much so it has a score of 4.9 stars out of 5. Over 1,200 people have left a 5* review online, with many users saying it's a product 'everyone should be using.'

One person raved: "I seriously cannot wait to do my bedtime routine so I can use this fabulous cleansing balm each night." A second said: "My absolute favorite skin care product. I use this every night , it leaves my skin feeling clean and soft . And the smell is amazing!!!"

A third commented: "This is my favourite cleansing balm, the way it melts away makeup is fantastic, the smell is just like a spa and it’s such a treat to use." A fourth said: "This is one of my favourites! It absolutely leaves me skin feeling super cleansed and refreshed!"

Despite all the positives, there were one or two negative reviews. One person said: "Very strong smell. Would never buy again. I thought this one had no smell but it’s worse than the rest." As it turns out, the balm isn't for everyone.

A second person complained: "It could just be my skin, but I’m not sure what all the hype is about with this product. It doesn’t remove much makeup, you have to wash your face after so it removed the positive ingredients and it made my face break out pretty bad."

You can buy the cleansing balm from Boots here. It can also be purchased from John Lewis.
